September 29, 2006, Newsletter Issue #8: Dreamy Analysis

Tip of the Week

People have been fascinated by dreams since Babylonian times (5000BC). There was a Babylonian goddess of dreams and the Babylonians also interpreted dreams using a book. Dream interpretation was practiced by Roman astrologers and Egyptian priests. In many cases, dreams were seen as advice or warnings from spirits and people looked to their dreams to decide on specific courses of action.
While dreams were thought of as evil in the Middle Ages, Sigmund Freud's work in the 19th century made people consider dream analysis again. Dream analysis and information is now available from websites and live experts online. These experts use a range of technologies, including instant messaging and live video chat, to speak to people and interpret their dreams.
